Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Here is the inside scoop about me: After six years in the USA where I attended graduate school, I moved back to Austria, where I am dividing my time between Upper Austria and Vienna. Rediscovering my home turns out to be an adventure, but it’s even more of an experience for my husband who made the big move across the Atlantic for the first time. This blog chronicles our daily lives (well, mostly the nice and beautiful aspects of it, otherwise it would be an endless rant about bureaucracy and nonsensical immigration hurdles). Thus, the posts will seem to be random and not follow any clear-cut topics or themes. It’s just one more eclectic blog about what comes to my mind and jumps in front of my camera.

  1. Just found your blog and I am intrigued. I am originally from Upper Austria and moved to California; I try to get back to Upper Austria usually once a year and always spend some time in Vienna as well. So I see a lot of connections to your experience and look forward to reading more by you.

    • Hi there, how lovely to meet a Dahoamtige abroad online! I really like your blog, by the way, and enjoy reading your posts very much. I am happy to keep you updated on Upper Austria and Vienna in between your annual visits πŸ™‚

  2. Hey there! πŸ™‚ I just found out about your blog from Beatrice (https://shootingvienna.wordpress.com/) and had to follow! I moved from Thessaloniki, Greece to Vienna, 9 months ago so i’m still exploring and discovering this amazing city! It’s really nice to see how other people view it as well! Liebe Grüße! Alexandra or just Alex πŸ˜€

    • Hi Alex! (A little belated) Welcome to Vienna! πŸ™‚ And thanks for stopping by on my blog! I really like yours, by the way. I also enjoy seeing how different people experience the same city. It’s so interesting – and makes for great pictures! Liebe Grüße, Barbara

      • Thank you Barbara! πŸ™‚ I still feel very new here, even though in a few days i’ll close 10 months in Vienna. Some times i can’t even believe that i’m here, i don’t know if that makes sense πŸ˜› But i love it, Vienna is a gorgeous city, i find the people really nice also, i could never relate with Greeks, even though i grew up there and lived there my whole life…i feel more like home here πŸ™‚ Have a nice week! Liebe Grüße, Alex

      • Very glad you like it here! Viennese people usually don’t have the reputation of being nice – quite the opposite πŸ˜‰ I am happy you are having a different experience!
