Brotfabrik, a former production site of a large bakery in Vienna, dating back to the late 1800s, has been converted into a cultural center. It is home to a bunch of galleries, a concert hall, etc. The grand opening of a newly renovated part of this complex took place a couple of days ago, which came along with an open house that we attended. This was very convenient, because a friend of ours is showing his paintings at one of these galleries, and we wanted to stop there anyway. It’s a cool place to hang out, even though not in an area where people find themselves if they live in a different part of the city. It is worth the trip to the 10th district, though, which is in itself an interesting adventure.
