Dyeing Yarn I

Now that I think of it, it has become clear to me that it was merely a matter of time. I love hand-dyed and hand-painted sock yarn, and I don’t even want to know the number of hours I’ve spent online browsing through hundreds of online stores marveling at all the pretty yarn. A few weeks ago, I felt the urge build up inside me to try dyeing some yarn myself. As Kool-Aid apparently does a good job as dye (at least to start with), and as we were expecting guests from overseas anyway, I asked our friends to bring some. Today is the big day. My five skeins of undyed yarn spent the night in a bath of water and vinegar to prepare them for their colorful adventure. I’ll report on the outcome tomorrow.
