St. Martin’s Goose

In Austria the traditional day to eat goose is St. Martin’s Day on November 11. For the sake of flexibility (and no doubt for better business), most restaurants have “goose weeks” around this time of year. As we are no fans of industrial agriculture, we found the perfect place to indulge in this typical fall feast. The restaurant owners raise their own geese on their little farm and in early November serve them to guests like us who’ve been waiting impatiently for the once-a-year treat. And, boy,  was it worth the wait!
